Apple/Mac Keyboard ShortCuts

Keyboard ShortCuts: a 'dash' between keys = press both together --press & hold first key while pressing other key; then let go, & press any other key in sequence if any.

Command-S = "Save file"; the 'doc symbol' beside the file title filename in title bar is ghosted out --dim, before saving, it is bright when doc is saved. Also, the File in the menu bar flashes --becomes blue background while saving. Can also press the 'Save File to Disk --Saves the current document.' icon in the app window tool bar; when doc is saved icon is ghosted out.

Command-Click (on a link in app other then a web browser) = Go to that spot --link place in doc.

Command-F5 keys = "Voice Over": computer reading out loud the text in cursor area... Press again to turn OFF. (Now input is very slow in this OpenOffice app: busy FAN... Force Quit & Re-open file brings it back to normal.)

Another odd thing happing, some assistant screen thing is ON; at bottom left of screen is a black box with white outline, with white text inside, which changes when ever I put the mouse cursor in a different spot. What turned it ON, & how to turn it OFF ?? VoiceOver is, was ON... How to? Turn it OFF... How to?

Contact local "Parks" concerning the bulldozing trash over onto the trails in the wooded area. They are covering up trails, making parts of the trails disappear. I have spent many hours, days, weeks, months, almost 2 years now, clearing out the trails, picking up trash, & making that area look good, and fully walkable, hikeable. Only the left 1st main trail is bikeable now, since the local parks has made the start of the right 2nd trail into its main trash/dump area, instead of having the trash area be only to the left of what was the right 2nd main trail entrance. I have to draw a map to show what I mean... They are pushing the trash area to the right of the entrance a little bit, covering up secondary trails I made to bypass the blockage at the end of the trash area, which blocked the continuance of the main trail on out to the Tennessee River inlet, and pushing the trash area in that blockage area further out covering up more on the 'T' part of that main trail, that I have been widening out as they push the trash further onto the trails. Would you tell the local parks folks to only put their trash only to the left of that entrance, & open up that main trail again. People are still going on into the wooded area & following the trails despite the 'Closed' signs posted at each of the 2 main entrances trails. I have made a trail all around the Tennessee River up & around the inlet on up to the Main Sidewalk from the Condominiums that goes down into the Park. I've also made a trail on the other side of the stream that flows out of the Park to the inlet & up around the stream that flows from the Condominiums. I think it is very beautiful down in that whole wooded area. Other folks do to. I've seen 1 small deer, a crane, ground hogs or beavers, turtles, and other wild life animals down in that area. The other week, I saw my first owl; I heard this noise up above me and saw an owl flying towards a large branch of a tree not too far from me & it landed & looked down at me with those 2 big eyes in his head. He looked in my direction for quite some time as I gazed up at him, then he looked away at something else. I keep on working & he did not move from his spot high up in that tree. When I left the park to go home, he was still there, & as I walked up the sidewalk toward the parking lot by the Condominiums, I could still see him from the distance. Some folks were walking down into the park, & I pointed out the place where the owl was at in that tree. They thanked me, & no doubt as they got closer in the park they too could see that owl. Countless folks have thanked me for cleaning up that wooded area, and for making the trails wider, etc. As the parks folks push trash onto the trails in the upper end of the wooded area where the trash dump is at, I keep picking up part of that trash & putting it back onto the original trash area, and keep making bypass trails around areas I can not clean out because of way too much trash being bulldozed onto the upper trail area at the main 2nd trail entrance where the dump is located. When there are wind storms that blows trees over onto the trails, I have a hand saw that I use to gradually clean those areas up over time... During the summer time there are blackberries & mulberries to pick and eat. Also during the dry summer months, the river inlet bed is dry at times so I can pick up the trash from the inlet & streams areas. I keep picking up the trash & putting it into the two nearest trash cans that are closest to each of the trail entrances, & the parks people takes it way; I thank them for doing that. They know I'm down in the wooded area, & at first did not seem to mind me doing what I was doing; even policemen on bicycles riding through the trails thanked me for making those trail better & safer for folks on bicycles. I've even seen couples with baby strollers out on the main trails. The trails around the edge of the water is walking trails only, since the paths are too narrow, steep, & rocky or large logs across the paths. But those trails are distinct & you can tell that you are going somewhere, even though folks would have to go single file much of the way, and be careful of where they put their feet, to avoid holes made by animals or rain wash, ... And the Tennessee River is so pretty, sparling in the sun, and around sunset it is just beautiful. The place farthest from the park, where the Tennessee River & the Inlet meets, I call 'Sunset Point': I drink my water, & eat my organic fruit there that I buy from GreenLife Grocery; there was a beautiful big tree right at that point, but during a pass wind storm it blew over along the side of the inlet water, but it is still beautiful to behold that area towards that bridge that goes towards north Chattanooga & Red Bank. Probably those 'Area Closed' signs were put up because of some folks putting up 3 or 4 camping tents, that a lot of people in the area complained about a lot. I know I did, and I know of others who said they did not like it either. People did not feel safe any more walking in the particular area the tents were located. Finally the police, or someone, told them to leave & after about 2 months, those tents were gone, so I could continue picking up trash in that part of the woods. Since those signs have been up, I have seen only 1 tent pitched, & I left a note that camping was not allowed in the area, & the next time I came downtown & went into the wooded area, the tent was gone. But I personally see that those tents being camped out in that wooded area is no reason to close the whole area off to the public. People still go out there, and folks cross through the woods to other areas. I see no safety issues if you are careful with your walking, or biking. I've even seen runners out there, even in areas that I had not cleaned up yet, & I did not know where those trails had lead to yet. Of course, now I know most of the area pretty good, & can walk through all of the trails in just a few minutes, when I'm not working on them. Please let me continue to keep the wooded area looking good for people to enjoy as they stroll through the trails and paths admiring the beauty of nature. One day this past summer, I was in the bypass trail I made beside the entrance to the trash dump, and a Parks official called to me & said he would give me a ticket if I did not immediately leave the area; I hurriedly gathered my tools and left for another part of the wooded area beneath the Condominiums, which was I guess officially out of the Park area, & began cleaning out trails leading back into the wooded area. There are many areas leading down into the wooded area besides what was the 2 main trails just below the last sidewalk in the park. The causal walker, observer may not notice them, but nature lovers & careful observers will discover them and enjoy following where they lead them. There are no deadends, rather they join other trails, paths. I've been most disappointed & hurt when that parks officer mentioned giving me a ticket, and of the past month, trails I've widen out being bulldozed over with trash. I have too much time invested in all this for it to amount to nothing. I enjoy doing this, & it is good exercise out in the clean open air of the river. I will continue to work in the woods, and sneak past parks workers & officials if necessary at times in order to be out in the 'parks woods', cleaning up trash, widening trails, some of which may have not been used for years, trailways, pathways, made by humans or animals in the past or presently being used. There is still trash in that wooded area, but now I have to make a path to get to it, since the vegetation is all grown up around the trash now. You can not see much trash in the distance anymore, and less & less as I clear out paths to it but I keep finding trash that I want to get to someday. When there are heavy rains, the 'lower' part of the wooded area, the inlet part in back of the Condominiums floods quite a bit preventing anyone from being in that area for a few days or weeks, & when it does flood, lots more of trash comes into that area, which I gradually clean up as the waters recede. Yes, there are hazards being out in the woods: I get cut, scratched, scrap my legs or arms, fingers pricked by thongs [??] & pricks, bryers [??], & get poison ivy rash at times, but to me it is still worth it being out in those woods. It is time well spent, & I feel very good about myself in the process. I'm being part of the solution, instead of part of the problem.

I attend a church downtown, so most Sunday afternoons I'm in the park area; also on some paydays, I'm at GreenLife grocery restocking up on organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, etc. so I make it a point to go places early, or whatever, so I have a few hours to spend in the Park wooded area. I hope you folks always keep that wooded area undeveloped, so outdoor nature lovers folks can enjoy a little bit of natural nature under the sunny blue sky.

I'm in the process of setting up a signature gathering process of folks who favor keeping that wooded area open to the public preserved in its natural state to be presented to you Parks area folds sometime in the near future. I also hope to have other folks volunteering to help me keep the area clean & looking good.

(2) [in some programs, typing] [typing double dashes] [typing double dashes] double-dashes [double dashes] [dash] [dash] [ -- ] = a long single dash [long single dash] [single long dash] [single long dash] [long dash] [long dash] [ -- ]; ..(3) [in some programs, typing] triple dots [triple dots] [...] = [...] (3 dots [dot] [or points, [point] or periods [period]] spaced apart a little more, or less... called: ellipses, ellipsis ??) Safari: it takes out, removes all extra spaces [extra spaces] that I put into a file, for spacing, ease of reading, etc... when viewing file online. Make a personal ".css" file that overrides Safari default css file... [see: Multiple spaces]

Mistakes [Mistakes], deleting wrong stuff, or too much bad stuff at one time ... press 'Command-Z' [Command-Z] [undo] [undo] a few times (one slow click at a time) until all is back in place to the time before started to delete stuff... but don't press it too many times, or the opposite bad stuff will take effect... whatever that is... you might undo previous good stuff... & not be able to undo the redo, not get it back for some reason... Be very careful when Desktop [Desktop] is the focus, or you will delete good icons, etc. & not even realize it --until sometime later, then it's too late, can't get it back.

Making Bookmarks [Making Bookmarks] When making a Bookmark [bookmark] & Links to them, (A) highlight the (#1) phrase (#2) [phrase] (#3) [phrase] that you want to make into a bookmark --one word or more--, (B) then copy/paste that phrase into the bookmark box --Menu > Insert > Bookmark--, or --press the 'tack' icon [Bookmark] beside the 'hyperlink' icon [Link] in tool bar--, & press 'OK', thus making a bookmark out of that phrase; (C) then paste that phrase at top of this doc in the Main Index where links goes & place in the correct alphabetical order, &(D) then hyperlink that phrase back to the bookmark... In this OpenOffice doc, Bookmarks anywhere are NOT shown in any special characters as they were in FrontPage2003 --ghosted out dotted underlined words--. Even so, you have (#1) the bookmark phrase itself which has no visible clues as to what it is, besides maybe being in a different format from the text around it, and then beside that clueless bookmark, put a (#2) Link pointing to, linking to that bookmark --copy/paste that link¹¹ in Main Index back to here--, then put a (#3) second Link to the link in the Index --make the link in the Index into a bookmark also by adding a '_#', such as 'phrase_01' for the bookmark name in the 'bookmark box', & link back to it--, because there may be more references there. [These 3 things not implemented yet in this file... do it now before it gets any larger.] I believe that is how I did it in the very large file started on the PC, called something like "Main Index" to 'favorites' & food info, etc. --put link [from the pc-side, ahm, since the file is located on church website, get web address: http://www.therockmcc.org/__1-extra/test-book/index_food_books/favorites_from_internet_explorer-original-a.htm] to it here-- ... Then at other phrase-places just like or similar to that bookmark, put a #3 link beside it to reference it to the original bookmark... Try & Do something like this... OK, doing it... [make whole paragraph plainer; (11 note) not quite clear at one spot: talking about 2 different things at same time...] Make it --the "Start Here", the bookmark a "movable" bookmark, keep on copy/paste it where needed, & the above link will find it... NO, asis... it is hardwired to a specific spot, place, & FORMAT... oh bad. Must delete it from the "Bookmark List" when moving it, or moving any other large body of text, rearranging things --that is, open "Insert Bookmark": dialog, menu > Insert > Bookmark, then find & select the bookmark phrase, & then press 'Delete'--, then re-enter Bookmark phrase again at the new place... I guess. No need to re-do the link to it though... if it is exactly as when first made... This also applies when resizing, changing color, etc. of a "bookmark". That is, many times, the bookmark disappears, becomes un-bookmarked, so have to re-bookmark that same phrase again. If you delete the current bookmark from the test file., it is also deleted from the bookmark internal list of bookmark names. True?

Bookmark name [Bookmark name] cannot have these 'red forbidden characters' [forbidden characters], so using these 'blue substitutes': ..'~.' = '.',.. '!' = '/' --forward slash, 7 o'clock,.. '^' = ':'....These are also forbidden in bookmark names: '@', ..'#', ..'*', ..'\' --backward slash, 5 o'clock, ..';', ..'?', ..',' [..Internal Bookmarks kept track of inside OpenOffice does NOT allow "." in its internal bookmark names, so am using "~" in place of a dot, period. Also, using "!" instead of "/", & using "^" instead of ":", ... These three prohibited red characters are common in computer file names.

I was trying to have the bookmark links in some mono type font name, but I guess save that only for email addresses or web addresses, in cases where it will be easy to see just how it is spelled, in cases where you can not copy/paste the email address somewhere else. Changing the font name may mess up the formatting in places, but rather do it now, then later when it will be much harder to re-change, redo things to my current better liking, what ever that might be...
