The Rock MCC church Calendars: Current & Past
|
Keeping in touch with what's going on at The Rock MCC. If you have any events that need to be added to the calendar, please email us at webmaster@therockmcc.org (subject to Board approval) Click here for Current Church Calendar Past Calendar Months by year: 2012 2011 2010 2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 |
| Here you have access to the present, current month calendar file, as well as all the past months since June, 2005. The monthly calendar files are being re-done each month, and are being transferred to our church wiki site storage area to make more room on our church website storage area for all the web pages that must be kept as a unit in FrontPage Website format. It's all done; NOW all calendars are back on our church website since we now have unlimited storage, making it much easier to edit past calendar files. |
| Of course, you know that clicking on an underlined link in the current month may give more info on that event for the current year & month only. Links in all past months no longer work correctly in most cases because the links apply only to events of the current month. For example, the Schedule Reminder is updated to new information each month [no longer being used] which will be different from last month, etc... All last month's info is gone, replaced with the new current month's info. Such links have been un-linked, and many other links have been "hard-wired" -full internet address in link- to the church website pages. [Since re-organizing website pages into different folders, most links no longer work in the older calendars.] |

First month using the "Monthly Calendar Set for 2005".
May
April, 2005: Started
"The Rock MCC" church website
Using last year's "Monthly Calendar Set for
2005", and re-programming it into 2006.
January - May was blank; only had to change the day's date. Beginning with June,
2005, had to
change the day's date as well as delete all the old stuff from 2005, or transfer
data to the new
day & date... and update it accordingly. From now on -until I find a new set of
month calendar year-
-I could not find a set for 2006- I now have to re-use the past year's month
calendar file and transpose,
re-program it into the current year. I'm getting more used to it since I've done
June and July now,
and August is just around the corner, but it still requires programming stuff
that I do not know how to do,
so have to experiment until it looks right, and is correct.
Before the use of & reusing of the above calendar templates, and the starting of the
present church website by Bernard Wotton,
the church was using a MSN Groups home page to advertise all about
The Rock
MCC church, of which I also was managing at
the last of it, but I don't remember who started it, or who was
managing it before I took over; it was during the time when Rev.
Keith Mozingo was our pastor. But Microsoft did away
with those group sites, and all was lost as to content and form; I saved what I
could, copied & pasted of the content then presently
on that site to this new one which is vastly superior to what we did have. There
was almost no memory to store things
long term like there is now, of which this church website has been upgraded to
unlimited
storage.
Also eventually I will copy things on
our church wiki site over to this our church web site, for easier keeping track
of items by putting them in different directories,
folders for better management. (On the church wiki site [It is still up & running, but which no one now has public access to, since I use it only to store files in presently.] everything is stored in one big
folder, making it hard to find items, especially if
file names are not named very good as to its content. The wiki site has gone through
many changes since I first began using it, and has
been improved a lot. But I have not used it for a few years, so all info on that site
right now is very much out of date. Most of the time when I try
to get log on to that site, I don't remember the user name nor password
in order to edit
things. Have to hunt & hunt for these codes to get in.
At the time we were using it, not many folks at the church were interested
in learning how to use it, and we have far less folks
at our church now. The wiki site still could be a cool tool for us to use if
there were more interest in it, especially since security has
been vastly increased as to who can access what.)
