An
All
Affirming Congregation is
one that welcomes Gays into all of the life of the local
church, and is gay-friendly, and believes one CAN
be Christian and Gay at the same time, since God
created all peoples including Gays.
We accept all people, no matter where on life's journey they are
at the moment. If you are seeking for truth and knowledge, and seeking
for a closer walk with God, come visit and grow with us.
We believe in the transforming power of the Holy Spirit
of God working in our hearts, souls, bodies,
minds, and in our lives to be more like Jesus. But that
process does NOT change our sexual
orientation any more then it changes our skin color
or gender. These are some things God will never do, nor
have any reason to change.
There are some Affirming Congregations in most
denominations today. You have to go to their local church website
to find more info.
This is opposed to
churches that are Transforming Congregations, which
means one can NOT be Christian and Gay, but they
welcome Gays that are seeking to transform into a "Straight"
lifestyle. We believe that view to be an utter impossibility, sinful,
and also un-Biblical, and against ALL modern scientific intelligence and
information.
Most churches are neither, that is, they ignore gay people
of faith, or else boot them out from their membership
and churches (which is very sad and very un-Christ-like).
YOU are ALL welcome at
The Rock MCC church!
May "trouble makers" be
changed by the power of God even before they pass by our church
property, before they enter the front door of our church building!
Visit us this Sunday!
May God Bless You All

Ministry
(This page is a work in progress... Links
in the e-News will reference places on this page.)
(Early e-News will just reference this page
and you can use the menu to find the reference;
newer ones will reference specific places
on this page as much as possible, or see the menu also...)
| Welcome to
the new issue of our church e-Newsletter:
The
Rock MCC e-News.
It highlights this past Sunday's
sermons, and current events for the coming
week at The Rock
Metropolitan Community Church as well as near future events
around MCC. It will also feature interesting
articles by staff and other people. It will be emailed
weekly to all subscribers.
This weekly publication objective is to recap the previous Sunday's
information and provide current information for those who may
not have been able to attend church services this past
Sunday. Below are the three main divisions
of the e-News.
1) It includes this
past Sunday's sermon titles, scriptures, and sermon summaries, important upcoming events,
announcements and contact information for you concerning the
local MCC as well as in MCC
worldwide.
These things are listed under
The Rock MCC Info.
2) It also includes Gay
community related articles and news.
These things are listed under
Gay Community Info.
3) Plus it has other
misc interesting and educational things.
These things are listed under
Misc Info.
Would you like to see something else included in this
e-News? Just let us know. Thanks.
May God Bless you, and inspire
you through this e-News! |

Note: Many of
these following items appeared in past issues of the e-News. Instead of
referencing past e-News in links, they are listed here for
reference... In the future, make a link on this page to each one so
when viewing this page, the item talking about will be easily found.
In the far future, may put them all on a wiki page with links here
to them... |

There May be MORE
Items & Things In the OnLine Version of this E-News.
(I can add more
things that I could NOT put in the e-Mail SENT OUT version. AOL
limits size to about 246 KB
& still be in e-Mail format before it
becomes a Zip file attachment.)

Following is an example of how to do things; for short articles like the
below, no longer have to make separate
file and make a link to it --Now the e-News is ONLINE ONLY...
length is no problem now... NOT using AOL.
Read full article here on our wiki site...
[When opening article, click

when backing out of article

upload a free copy of Microsoft Word Reader that you
can
download to read Word files. Or change the format
to HTML which will be easier to open and read...]

Notice: to
all members, friends, attendees, acquaintances
of The Rock
Metropolitan
Community
Church, and all who visit our
website,
wiki
site, and read our
e-Newsletters:
Sometimes we are just called The
Rock MCC, or The Rock
MCC church, or even at times just
the local MCC, or local
MCC church, or
even at times referred to as just The Rock, or even as in the expression: the
Rock
folks.
It has come to my notice that sometimes when
you hear or see any of
those phrases, it just
might NOT be referring
to us,
The Rock
Metropolitan
Community
Church.
There is
another church in this local area that also uses some of
those phrases when referring to themselves.
So if you hear something on the radio or TV,
or see something in print, make sure it is referring to our local church,
The Rock
Metropolitan
Community
Church
before you jump to any conclusions,
etc
This
other
church is also called "The Rock" which
is nothing like our church. It is located on Dallas
Rd. and appears to be a more alternative type church.
Few details are available at this time. Just be aware in case
someone says they saw a commercial of "Our Church call The
Rock" as it probably is this
other church.
Thanks.
(There are also other churches in this
local area -such as in Dalton, GA- that has the words "Rock"
and "Community" somewhere in their
name.) |

AOL Notice:
When clicking on links that goes to the Internet, using AOL
browser or AOL software is very slow at times;
but using
Internet Explorer
is real fast most of the time...
Just copy the e-News address into Internet Explorer
address bar,
or some other browser, for faster reading of articles going outside
of the e-News.
In the past, while testing the
links in the
AOL e-News email,
all I get when clicking on Internet links is
"Web site fond, waiting for
reply...".
By the time I open Internet Explorer, read and
click on links and read the articles online, AOL
is still waiting... Don't know what their problems are at those
times.
But using
Internet Explorer (and thus by passing AOL, even if
AOL is your main internet service provider) you can go
to
our
church website, click on "e-Newsletter"
and under "Read
Past Issues", click on the newest one, or click on
Current Issue
and read it lots faster then in AOL...
Thanks.
Notice:
I give reading instructions concerning certain articles in
these e-News that I read when clicking on links because pop up
windows either appear before or after reading them. I had to
experiment to see what to choose worked best, etc. Many times it
also depends on what browser you use, or what program
you use as your default reader when opening articles or pictures,
whatever. I'm trying to make this as user friendly as possible! So
bear with me if you already know this stuff!
Notice:
When NO graphics show up in this e-News, nor on our
church website, it means the wiki host computers are down; if that
is so, they will
be online soon.
Note on Links to Articles:
[A] If it is a link --underlined, either
[1] Click on them,
[2] Right-click and choose "Open [page] in New Window", or
[3] Right-click and choose "Copy Shortcut" to copy URL address into
another program or text file.
[B] If it is not a link --not underlined- but just a URL address
listing,
[1] Copy & Paste the URL address into your browser to visit that
website. or
[2] To change it from just a URL address listing into a link, press
the Return key after pasting it into text --does not work in Notepad,
but does work in most other text editors, word processors, etc.
(Since the e-News issue
#017 is [was] too large for AOL e-mail, many links to past articles have
[had] been taken out; see
them all up to #016 in the
#016 issue.)
(I will be making an index to all articles soon in a separate
e-News --after I move files from the church website to our wiki
site, and update all the past e-News issues
accordingly... That will mean all links in past issues sent to you
that you have saved to your computer will no longer work; but the
ones listed on our church website --the
"rock-e-news.htm" --this page you are reading-- will be good, which you can
download in place of the past ones you have saved.) (Many past links taken out of next few issues-- e-News were too
large for AOL e-mail... Put them back in-- for now... OK,
along with their Headings...)
Note: The special "roll over" effects that is applied to all links
do not work the same on all links...
Ordinarily, when the mouse pointer passes over a link, the
pointer turns into a "pointing hand". With the special "roll over"
effects the links should be RED, Italics, Bold, with a line also
over the link, such as
this is red link
and in size 14 font, which will make the link smaller in size if the
original link is larger then that, so try to always point towards
the left side of all links. ... This has NO effect on a few links;
some links change color to red, others do not change colors... I
don't know why its not the same on all links... But the "pointing
hand" is always over a clickable link... I hope these special
effects are useful, and not a distraction. It helps to tell what are
links and what are just underlined text...
Depending on what program you are
in, most of the time the mouse pointer is a slanted arrow; when it
is over text, it changes to an "I beam"... That is the default
behavior of the mouse pointer on monitor screen.
Notice that graphics and pictures
can also be links, such as the two logos at the top banner of every
page... Our logo goes to the old MSN Groups website; the the
MCC logo goes to headquarters website. There are 4 such
graphics in the left-hand links side...

Beginning with
this issue, All Pictures,
Docs, Files, etc. are now located in the wiki site
storage file area ...
(1) I'm also working on each web page
of our church website, transferring all
pictures to the wiki site and updating all links...
This is DONE!
(2) I'm also transferring all past month calendar files
also. This is also DONE! [except
for current one]
(3) I am in the process of transferring all the e-News issues
beginning with the oldest, and transferring all pictures also...
(This is very time consuming and slow work... Many links have to be
re-done... Basically re-doing the whole issues.)
This is also DONE! [except for the last 2 issues --1
working on and the previous week's issue for reference...]
The above 3 things are being done to save storage
space at our church website; we don't have much storage space
and we keep running out of disk space --have only 100 MB compared to 2500 MB on
the wiki site... But accessing
the storage area on the wiki site is quite primitive, yet hopefully
improvements will be forthcoming as the creators
of our wiki continually work on their wiki program...
****
Beginning with this issue (-and now all past issues), the e-News are at the
wiki site for
viewing & downloading. And the e-Mail Version of the e-News is now
just a link
to the Online Version.
